Taylor council moves September meeting and cancels late-November, late-December meetings

The Taylor City Council on July 10 approved adjustments to its regular meeting schedule: the council moved the Sept. 11 meeting to Sept. 10 to accommodate a special-called budget meeting, and it canceled the second regular meetings that would fall on Nov. 27 (Thanksgiving week) and Dec. 25 (Christmas).
City staff said the September shift is intended to avoid a conflict with community commemorations on Sept. 11 and to accommodate a budget-focused special session preliminarily set for Sept. 10. Staff also told the council they will adjust permit and Planning & Zoning submittal deadlines as needed to avoid applicant deadlines being missed by the schedule changes.
Councilmember Redden made the motion to move the September meeting and cancel the second November and December meetings; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Councilmembers asked staff to keep them informed as agendas grow and to issue the 72-hour public-notice requirement should a special meeting be needed. No ordinance or budget action was taken as part of the scheduling changes; the action affects only the calendar of regular meetings.
