Williams told the board DeSoto received about $271,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the upcoming program year. She said typical uses described in the consultation materials and pamphlet include home repair, sidewalk repairs, transportation assistance, utilities, rent assistance and smaller targeted programs to support seniors and low‑income residents.
Staff said a more detailed presentation of survey results will be provided on the board’s upcoming meeting (noted as the fourteenth), and that the public hearing is the last formal opportunity for public input before the consolidated plan proceeds.
