Positions and appropriations — Department of Social Services (Agenda item 8a) The board approved adding an assistant director for administrative services and two family-service/CPS worker positions and appropriated $354,997 (total), with a local match of $137,163 and state/federal funds of $217,834. Roll-call: Supervisors Jewell, Dunn, Wells, Vice Chair, Lockridge, Leerro and the chair — all aye.
Outside-agency funding — Laurel Center (Agenda item 8b) The board approved an out-of-cycle supplemental allocation of $40,000 to the Laurel Center for emergency shelter and therapy services. Deputy Building Official (committee recommendation) The board approved creation/promotion to a deputy building official/code-administrator position as recommended by the Human Resources Committee; vote was unanimous in favor by roll-call.
Appointments and reappointments (Agenda item 9) - Leslie Spencer appointed to an unexpired term on the Conservation Easement Authority (term to expire 08/24/2027). Motion carried by roll-call. - Gary Bailey reappointed to the Shawnee Land Sanitary District Advisory Committee (term expiring Aug. 2025). Motion carried by roll-call. - Whit Wagner reappointed to the Board of Building Code Appeals (5-year term). Motion carried by roll-call.
Ordinance referral — Transfer of Development Rights and Traffic Impact Analysis (Agenda item 13) The board voted to send the proposed Chapter 165 ordinance amendment (TDR and TIA updates) to the Development Review and Regulations Committee for further drafting and to authorize public hearings with the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors; motion carried by roll-call.
