Kossuth County hears RenewGov team pitch as county weighs alternatives to incumbent software

RenewGov representatives and partner Team Consulting made a presentation to the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors about their county-government software and support services, describing plans to expand into Iowa as an alternative to the incumbent Solutions product.

Sean and John Westro introduced the company’s background and said the vendor has signed letters of intent with several Iowa counties and is preparing to bid on the statewide ISAC request for proposals. Westro described his company’s customer-support focus and said the firm aims to provide immediate phone support and more rapid fixes than counties have experienced from other large vendors after corporate acquisitions.

When county supervisor Kyle Stecker asked about ticket-response targets, a RenewGov representative said routine calls are often answered immediately and that callbacks typically occur within three to five minutes if agents are busy. For urgent software regressions, the vendor said it will drop other work to fix the issue and could deliver same-day or next-day patches depending on timing.

On development timelines, RenewGov estimated roughly two to three years to build a full, Iowa-compliant system from the ground up but said modern tools could shorten that schedule. The vendor said it already has development and support staff and that it is pursuing several Iowa contracts; it also said winning the ISAC RFP would accelerate adoption.

County officials asked about how counties sign up; the vendor said early agreements are letters of intent with some financial commitment. The board did not make any procurement decisions at the meeting; staff said they will continue monitoring the ISAC RFP and vendor discussions.
