County staff told commissioners that planning for an upcoming volunteer fair and the county’s volunteer-time-off program is underway and that the response has been positive.
A staff member reported that elected officials have committed to attend the volunteer fair on July 20 and that the event’s 10 a.m.–2 p.m. window will include a hot-dog lunch and other refreshments. “So far, I was very pleased that all the electeds will be able to attend…for that 10 to 2 lunch setup period,” the staff member said.
Staff said volunteers are signing up and the event organizers expect a good turnout; no formal action was taken at the work session and no budget amounts were finalized during the discussion.
County staff will continue event planning and logistics coordination and report back as needed.
