The Jamestown Zoning Board of Appeals renewed an area variance to permit a two-family dwelling on Parcel 386.08-6-31 at 370 Fairmont Avenue in an RC zone, the board heard.
The application filed by Long Associates Architects listed a proposed lot size of about 5,974 square feet where the RC zone requires a minimum lot size of 8,000 square feet (Section 300-0307c). The proposed new lot width was listed as about 40.6 feet compared with a required lot width of 60 feet.
Board members discussed the renewal process and the applicant indicated the plan is to resubmit a funding application in the fall; project representatives said they expect a determination on funding within roughly a year. Tom Whitney, representing one of the applicant organizations, told the board the group will supply funding materials in the fall and expected a decision before the one-year renewal period expires.
The board opened the item for public comment and recorded no substantive objections in the transcript provided. The motion to approve the area variance was on the floor and seconded by Mister Thomas; the transcript does not include a roll-call vote tally.
