The Richmond Community Schools Board approved multiple contracts, policy actions and administrative items at its July 9 meeting, voting unanimously on items covering special education agreements, professional services, mental-health services and several policy read-throughs. The board also rejected a single bid for the Live Gold Field Phase 1 project and voted to prevent an automatic one-year extension of Superintendent William Eugene Wright’s contract.
The routine consent package (items 4.01–4.04) passed on a motion by Member Stevens with a second from Member Quarton. The board recorded the vote as 6-0 in favor.
On action items the board recorded the following outcomes:
- Item 5.01: Annual agreement for special education/Head Start–related services (described by staff as the district’s annual agreement for special education services). Motion carried 6-0 (mover: Member Stevens; second: Member Quarton). Vote recorded as 6–0.
- Item 5.02: CDO Consulting Group professional services (strategic planning phase 2 with Bristow/Bristow partner). Motion carried 6-0 (mover: Member Moran; second: Member Weber).
- Item 5.03: 2025–2027 mental-health agreement with Superstone (two-year agreement). Motion carried 6-0 (mover: Member Oriaga; second: Member Stevens).
