County committee approves resolution to apply for liquor permits at Mitchell International Airport concessions

Milwaukee — The County Board’s Transportation and Transit Committee voted unanimously to recommend that the board approve a resolution allowing Milwaukee County to apply to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for retail intoxicating liquor permits for new or upgraded concession spaces at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.
Airport director Brian Drancik and interim deputy director Eddie Santiago explained the request. Drancik told the committee the permits are needed so concessionaires can operate bars and other on‑site alcohol sales tied to redeveloped food and retail spaces. The permit applications would be filed on behalf of concessionaires SSP America Inc. (food and beverage) and Paradies Lagardere (retail concessions); concessionaires are to pay any state fees.
Committee action Supervisor Ekblad moved adoption; the motion passed on a roll call of five ayes, zero noes.
