City selects Olsen to lead Newton comprehensive plan update

Staff said the chosen scope emphasizes robust public engagement, on-site work by the consultant, and an updated housing study using the same firm that conducted the city’s previous housing study.
Commissioners approved staff direction to finalize the scope and allow the city manager to sign the agreement. Staff said the final scope increases in-person work and leverages a well-known public surveying tool; the planning commission reviewed the selection and provided no additional comments.
