FPRA approves $152,500 interlocal agreement with Treasure Coast RPC for Lincoln Park master plan

The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency voted to authorize an interlocal agreement with the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council to develop a master plan for the Lincoln Park neighborhood, in the amount of $152,500.

Commissioner Johnson, who pulled the item to highlight community outreach, said the work will be an opportunity for “residents, businesses, landholders, [and] investors” to participate in public input opportunities. Jessica Williams, who presented the plan to the board, said: “Our plan is to create a vision for the Lincoln Park area, bring it back, revitalize the area, attract more businesses, investors, housing, and just basically get more community input to what we wanna see that area.”

The master‑plan work was described at the meeting as a tool to guide redevelopment of an older neighborhood and to align with other planning efforts, including a downsized lot structure and staff efforts to encourage appropriate housing stock and design. Planning staff said town halls and other outreach events will be scheduled and publicized in the neighborhood to maximize resident participation.

The action appeared on the consent agenda as item G and was moved and approved by roll call after the board discussed the need to notify and engage the neighborhood. No dissenting votes were recorded.

Clarifying details: board members said the plan will include community meetings and that the agreement funds development of a vision and recommendations; exact timelines and meeting dates were not specified at the meeting.
