Hays County Commissioners on July 8 adopted a proclamation designating July 2025 as Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision Week to recognize staff who supervise people in the county’s community corrections programs.
Commissioners praised Hays County Judicial Services staff for work on substance‑use referrals, mental‑health diversion, employment support and case management that, they said, helps defendants avoid incarceration when appropriate and supports public safety. Albert Sierra, assistant director of Judicial Services, and Jason Facundo, Judicial Services director, thanked staff and outlined programs that include referrals to substance‑use and job‑training partners. Jessica Baldassari of Hays County Adult Probation also addressed the court.
The court adopted the proclamation by voice vote; commissioners said the recognition complements ongoing budget discussions and broader justice‑system improvement efforts.
