During the July 8 session, the Davis County Board of Equalization approved the property tax register, including assessor‑initiated corrections, abatement denials, veterans after‑tax claims, and penalty waivers.
Curtis Koch presented the register and summarized the actions: several abatements recommended for denial because they did not meet qualifications; 13 veterans after‑tax claims for 2024; eight assessor adjustments including partial corrections for four years (market value corrections for 2021–2024); a personal property penalty waiver totaling $2,363.29; and assessor and exemption corrections totaling $438,040. Koch said that the tax checks did not change in some corrections because retail value adjustments did not alter the taxable value.
A commissioner moved to approve the property tax register; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Ending: The approved register will be processed as the county's official property tax adjustments for the affected parcels and years; county staff will complete the associated clerical and accounting updates.
