Board approves one-year lease with University of Denver at Colorado Air and Space Port

Jeff Kloska, director of the Colorado Air and Space Port, told the board the lease uses an in-kind arrangement: DU will provide agreed quarterly projects supporting CASP predevelopment activities and will help establish a Six Sigma center of excellence intended to institutionalize operational and redevelopment processes for CASP and its partners. The services are documented in Exhibit B of the proposed lease, Kloska said.
Commissioners praised the arrangement as a catalytic economic development step for the county. Commissioner Steve O’Dorisio called the spaceport “a catalyst for economic development and growth” and said he supported the lease. Chair (meeting chair identified in the transcript) made the motion to approve the resolution; the motion passed by voice vote and was recorded as 5–0.
