The Ada County Board of Commissioners approved a Bureau of Land Management grant application on July 8 that will fund county work to control noxious weeds on federal lands adjacent to private property.
Commissioner Daley moved to approve grant number 2510 and to authorize online completion of the application by Adam Schroeder. Schroeder told the board the grant "allows us to get paid when we do ... noxious weed control work on federal grounds." The motion was seconded, the chair called for the vote and the motion carried.
County officials said the program lets county staff treat noxious weeds on federal property where they threaten neighboring private parcels; the county will be reimbursed for eligible work under the BLM agreement. No dollar amount for the grant was included in the meeting transcript.
