County staff told commissioners the city has set aside $41,600 in its budget for its portion of the position and prefers a fixed annual amount rather than a percentage-based cost share. The agreement preserves the city’s obligation to that annual amount even if the county later changes compensation for the shared GIS position.
Commissioner Helm moved to adopt Resolution 2025-09; Commissioner Abbott seconded. The motion passed by show of hands.
County staff said they will publish the necessary notice and send the final documents to the state as required for interlocal agreements.
The agreement is intended to fund a shared GIS position and the associated services; the county did not discuss changes to operational responsibilities at the meeting.
