LCC approves additional interim meeting days for water program task force and House oversight committee

The Legislative Coordinating Council on July 1 authorized additional interim meeting days for two committees: four days for the water program task force and two days for the House Select Committee on Government Oversight.
Shirley, legislative staff, presented a letter from chairs asking for 10 days for the water program task force under HB 2172; committee chairs had not previously requested days because they were not yet announced. Speaker Hawkins and other members discussed the request and Representative Hawkins moved to approve four of the requested 10 days for the water program task force and two days for the House select committee on government oversight. The motion was seconded by Majority Leader Croft and carried on a voice vote.
Council members agreed to consider requests for additional new interim meeting days at the next LCC meeting in August if needed.
