The GSBA package requires completing a governance checklist and a self-assessment; administrators asked board members to complete the paperwork promptly so the district could submit the application by the July deadline.
Administrators said the GSBA process does not have a single right or wrong answer but is intended to guide board training and governance improvement. The board discussed completing the checklist during the work session and placing the application on the consent agenda at the next regular meeting.
No final vote to appoint trustees or approve the GSBA application occurred during the work session; administrators asked the board to complete paperwork and authorized staff to include the application on a consent agenda for a future meeting.
