The Goshen Planning Board voted to extend an amended site-plan approval for Amy's Kitchen and Science of the Soul, moving the approval's expiration to Jan. 15, 2026, to allow completion of outstanding work on the site.
Board members said the amendment to the site's prior approval remains largely implemented, with petitioner materials saying Amy's Kitchen has completed most required infrastructure. The applicant's filing with the town clerk notes the amended site plan was originally granted Jan. 18, 2024, signed by Planning Board Chair Lee Burgess on Feb. 15, 2024, and filed with the town clerk on Feb. 16, 2024; that approval was set to expire around July 18, 2025, and the applicant requested a six-month extension to Jan. 15, 2026.
The applicant's submission, filed through counsel, says Amy's Kitchen has installed approximately three miles of water and sewer lines, completed Route 17M improvements, constructed the principal access road and a bridge over the Wauke Hill River, built the main entrance building and begun construction on the manufacturing facility. The filing also states operations have commenced under a temporary certificate of occupancy that will convert to a permanent certificate after connection to a permanent sanitary sewer collection facility.
Board members discussed whether the extension request would transfer to a future property owner; a board member noted approvals generally continue with the property unless the use changes or the approval is abandoned. The motion to extend the amended site-plan approval to Jan. 15, 2026, was moved by a board member identified in the record as Eric and seconded by Planning Board member Seamus O'Neil. Board member Shaneel was recorded as recused for this item. The vote passed; a numerical tally was not specified in the transcript.
The extension allows the applicant additional time to complete remaining connections and obtain a permanent sanitary sewer tie-in before the approval lapses.
