Nogales council approves summer-camp MOU, OKs in-kind support for NogiFest; tables library appointment and bicycle event

The Nogales City Council on July 2 approved several administrative items and directed staff on personnel and procurement follow-ups while tabling two community requests for further review.
The council voted to approve a memorandum of understanding with the Santa Cruz County superintendent’s office for a summer camp program run by the Nogales Fire Department. The council also approved in-kind support for the NogiFest event at Cordova Park on Sept. 27. Council members voted to initiate an internal recruitment for the Housing Director position after the recent resignation, and to hold a special commissioners’ meeting to consider interim staffing. The council scheduled a special meeting to screen City Clerk applicants and set a July 14 special meeting to begin interviews.
