The City of San Antonio Zoning Commission took the following actions on June 17:
- Consent agenda: Items 5, 10, 11, 12 and 13 were approved by unanimous roll call and will be forwarded to City Council. (Notices and brief descriptions were read into the record.)
- Item 3: Continued to July 15 by unanimous roll call (no public comment). The applicant may return July 15 and City Council scheduling was not affected.
- Item 4 (14618 Santa Gertrude Street): Rezoning to R6CD with a conditional use for an assisted living facility (no more than 16 residents) — recommendation for approval, forwarded to City Council. Motion by Commissioner John Whitsett; second by Commissioner Marco Barros.
- Item 6 (8802 Troy Drive): Rezoning request to C2CD with conditional use for oversized vehicles — denied by the commission. Motion to deny by Commissioner George Hinojosa; second by Commissioner Daniel Kellum.
- Item 7 (1511 Burnett Street): Rezoning to RM4 for conversion to a duplex — continued to July 15. Commission requested the applicant document neighborhood outreach prior to returning.
- Item 8 (1602 Lone Oak Avenue): Rezoning to R4CD with conditional use for two dwelling units — recommended for approval and forwarded to City Council.
- Item 9 (422 Hartline Drive): Rezoning and C2NA CD conditional use to permit oversized‑vehicle service and storage — recommended for approval and forwarded to City Council; staff requested documentation of cleanup and neighborhood support ahead of council.
- Minutes: The commission approved the 06/17/2025 Zoning Commission minutes as submitted.
Motions were decided by roll call votes; in contested matters the commission emphasized neighborhood outreach, site plan controls and floodplain constraints where applicable. Items recommended by the commission will be heard next by City Council (projected council hearing dates were noted during individual presentations).
