Commissioners asked how the library planned to cover a $1,700 difference in the current budget. The library representative said grants, donations and savings were used and that the city’s distribution schedule — county funds arriving late in the year — complicates the library’s cash flow and requires auditors to account for revenue timing. Staff said auditors can estimate revenue for audit purposes if necessary.
A commissioner asked whether state statute required a public hearing; the response from staff was that no public hearing was required under the applicable statute for library levies in this instance. The commission made a motion to approve the budget "as written" and recorded affirmative votes. The motion passed.
