Town Manager Tracy Drum told the Board of Commissioners staff is finalizing limited language in a memorandum of understanding, right-of-entry and due-diligence access agreement with Lowe’s Home Centers LLC regarding proposed land for a new Fire Station 7.
Drum said staff expects the agreement to be ready for the board’s consideration at the meeting on Monday and that she would keep the board updated. She described the pending language changes as limited and said staff hoped to have the agreement ready to vote.
The mayor and commissioners responded positively and noted the location would improve emergency response times in an area the chief has identified as needing faster response. No vote occurred at the briefing; staff indicated the item will be presented for a vote at the upcoming meeting.
