The Oak Grove City Council voted unanimously June 30 to mark property lines on the east side of Lake George after a recent survey, directing public‑works staff to obtain bids and proceed with installation.
Council members said survey stakes and corners risk disappearing and that clearer, more frequent markers—posts or similar fixtures like those at Dunlop Park—would better protect city property and reduce incursions. A council member said the markers could also discourage snowmobile trespass onto adjacent private property.
The council asked public works to price posts similar to the 6‑by‑6 or 8‑by‑8 markers used elsewhere and to recommend spacing. Mayor Wolf Rolfe (motion maker) asked staff to pursue the most cost‑effective option and to keep the work within the administrator’s spending limit if possible. Council Member Wylie seconded the motion; the vote was 3–0 in favor.
Council discussion did not set a firm timetable; staff will return with bids and a recommended plan.
