A board member pointed out the report’s fourth-column event dates appeared to show 2026 rather than 2025 and asked staff to correct the printed year. Staff explained the facilities booking system is Facilitron and that the district receives payments through that vendor: users make an initial down payment to Facilitron, which then issues a check to the district when the event has been completed and the vendor disperses funds to district budgets. “We run this through a company called Facilitron… you book the usage of our facilities through that company. You have to pay a certain percentage as a down payment, and then you pay Facilitron,” a staff member said.
Staff explained Columbia Dance Academy pays full facility, custodial and utilities fees for its annual recital at Columbia Central High School; the custody and utilities fees feed back into the district’s facilities lines and pay custodial companies and utility costs. The staff member said the academy typically settles the balance by the end of the month, and the board asked staff to ensure the report’s printed year is corrected.
The board agreed to leave the facilities-use item on consent pending the correction of the printed dates and confirmation the district will receive the expected funds.
