He asked for an aye vote.
Assemblymember Haney voiced strong support, saying the bill "will protect and strengthen the in home supportive services program" and noted the importance of funding the initial rollout of the IHSS Employer‑Employee Relations Act for over 700,000 IHSS workers.
Opponents expressed fiscal concerns. Following floor debate, the clerk closed the roll: Ayes 56, Nos 4. SB 129 passed without reference to file and will be implemented consistent with the 2025 budget.
