The City of Saratoga Springs council voted to enter an executive session to discuss Public Employment Relations Board case number A2024-125 and an employment matter involving particular individuals.
Before the executive session, a staff member cited the Open Meetings Law (Public Officers Law §105) and identified subsection (e) for collective negotiations and subsection (f) for matters involving the medical, financial or employment history of a particular person as the legal bases for the closed session.
The council made a motion to go into executive session; the mayor called for a voice vote and the motion carried. When the council reconvened in open session, members reported that a discussion took place concerning the history of a particular person and that no action was taken. The council also said resolution proposals for non-union, full-time executive employees were discussed but no final action was taken.
The transcript records the motion to enter executive session and a voice vote approving it; the council did not record or announce any formal votes or resolutions arising from the closed session.
