The City of Saratoga Springs announced a public hearing to consider repealing Article 8B of Chapter 203 (Streets and Sidewalks: Sitting or Lying on Sidewalks) and enacting a new Chapter 95A of the city code, titled “Camping Prohibited on Certain Public Property.”
Mayor Seffert said the public hearing will be held tomorrow and that Commissioner Cole will present a brief PowerPoint before the hearing. No vote occurred at the current meeting; the council scheduled the hearing to receive public comment and consider the ordinance.
Public Safety staff later listed the same ordinance on their agenda and described related items the department will present, including contracts for traffic-signal services and camera agreements. The city’s public-safety representative said the proposed code change will be considered as part of the scheduled public hearing.
The council did not take final action on the ordinance at this session; the hearing will be the opportunity for public comment and for councilors to deliberate before any vote.
