County board rejects settlement agreement with Zilli Hospitality over Warner Catering contract

Supporters of rejection argued the county should pursue further negotiation and not accept the terms as presented; supporters of adoption argued the settlement resolved lingering contractual disputes and provided a path forward.
The board voted 13 ayes and 4 noes to reject the settlement; the clerk recorded the item as rejected on the floor. Corporation Counsel Scott Brown told the board that a rejection would leave the case unresolved and the county could return to the bargaining table or face litigation, depending on the other party’s response.
