The Blount County Planning Commission approved a site-plan review for Camp Tipton of the Chilhowee Baptist Association at 933 Walker School Road to add living quarters intended primarily for camp staff.
Planning staff member Cameron presented the proposal, saying the addition is "a living quarters that will serve primarily the staff at Camp Tipton" and that staff believes the project will use an existing septic system. Commissioner Wright moved to approve the plan with conditions; Commissioner Giles seconded. The motion passed; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
When asked by Commissioner McClellan what kind of camp Camp Tipton is, Commissioner Bledsoe replied that it is a church camp. Planning staff confirmed building elevations and the site plan were included in the meeting packet and offered to take further questions.
No additional conditions or follow-up tasks beyond standard permitting were recorded in the meeting notes.
