Council approves contract for Give Back Festival at Clute Municipal Park; organizer must carry insurance

Council members asked for clarification about line items in the event invoice, including a unit listed as “1 personnel.” Staff explained that the invoice uses a unit‑pricing spreadsheet where some quantities are represented as single units for invoicing even though the line covers multiple roles (truck drivers, dumpster deliveries, EMS staff and other event staff). Staff also said rates are based on FEMA reimbursement rates and that staff negotiated about $1,500 in discount compared with the prior year’s charge.
Council action: Councilmember Aguilar made the motion to approve the contract (described in the meeting as Resolution 37‑2025 or 37‑125); the motion was seconded by a councilor identified in the transcript as Perchival. The vote was recorded as unanimous.
