The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance 2057 on second reading, approving the county’s Economic Opportunities Analysis (EOA) and incorporating its findings and recommendations into the county comprehensive plan under Goal 9 (economic development).
Community development staff and Planning Manager Jay Blake presented the EOA and told the board that the Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) had reviewed the document and offered no comments. Commissioners praised the outreach undertaken to gather input across the county and called the EOA a useful planning tool for future decisions.
The public hearing record showed no members of the public registered to speak either remotely or in person at the second reading and the board took a voice vote to adopt the ordinance. Staff noted this will inform economic development work and align with other efforts such as the Industrial Revolving Fund and enterprise zone priorities.
Ending — The board recognized Planning Manager Jay Blake for his work; Blake is retiring and commissioners thanked him for his lead on the project.
