The Laguna Beach Design Review Board on June 26 approved a proposal for a combined swimming pool and spa at 475 Legion Street.
Staff said the project is a swimming pool and spa totaling roughly 22,000 gallons, with associated equipment sited on the side of the property and meeting setback requirements; staff also noted the project will be checked at building plan check for compliance with the city’s noise limits. Staff recommended approval after reviewing the applicant’s materials and applicable development standards and reported no public comments on the item.
During deliberations board members agreed the project met design-review criteria, including compatibility with the site and neighborhood, and voiced a request that standard conditions for pool equipment hours remain in the permit package. A motion to approve the staff-recommended resolution passed by a unanimous roll-call vote.
The board adopted the resolution approving Design Review 25-1080 for 475 Legion Street. The project will proceed to building plan check for final equipment and noise compliance.
