Staff noted the probation department is restructuring Camp Kilpatrick in the Santa Monica Mountains, transitioning the facility to an all‑girls and gender‑different services site with updated facilities; the transition could increase capacity from about 20 male residents to up to 50 and aim for completion by early fall.
Council member Anderson (reporting on the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy advisory committee) said the advisory body approved several grants focused on wildfire resilience and open‑space improvements. Highlights included a $1,900,000 grant for training facility upgrades and capital improvements at King Gillette Ranch, and a $225,000 grant for projects in the Simi Hills and Santa Susana Mountains.
Council received written public comment from a homeowners association on the Conservancy item; the clerk said comments would be part of the permanent record.
