Program coordinator Nikki Fotinos told the authority that HOTMA establishes an asset limit for new voucher admissions and updates rules for asset exclusions, income calculations and certain allowances. Staff noted HUD will set a $100,000 asset limit for new admissions, and clarified that many financial accounts such as IRAs, 401(k)s and education savings accounts are on HUD's updated list of excluded assets.
