Beaver County officials clear way for October hazardous-waste event, move tax-sales to Vanport; BOOM leases, garage bid previewed

Beaver County commissioners at a work session Wednesday, June 25, agreed to proceed with an annual household hazardous waste event in October in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Resource Council and announced that the county's September 9 and December 9 tax-judicial sales will be held at the Local 7-12 Union Hall in Vanport, officials said. Staff also previewed 27 resolutions to be considered at the next meeting, including leases tied to the BOOM festival and a bid award for a parking-garage renovation.

The request to hold the hazardous-waste event came from county staff, who told commissioners: "We've just found out that we are able to hold a household hazardous waste event for this year.
