Rowe said the requested increase is $455,060. He told the board the state reimburses counties for inmate medical claims exceeding $25,000 per inmate under Maryland law and that Washington County expects to receive $308,477.84 in reimbursement; the county will cover the remaining balance with savings and other FY2025 budget line items.
The board moved and seconded the change order and approved it by unanimous voice vote. Staff said the center must pay medical fees up front and then submit documentation to the state for reimbursement under Maryland Code, Correctional Services Article §9‑405; no additional motions or amendments were recorded.
