Board approves pool dehumidification project and equipment purchases totaling more than $2.1 million

The L'Anse Creuse Public Schools Board approved several operations and facilities purchases on June 23, including a $2,118,383 pool dehumidification project and equipment purchases for grounds and building maintenance.

The board approved a motion to proceed with the pool dehumidification project (motion by Mrs. Herndon, support by Mr. Davila); the motion carried by voice vote. Trustees discussed possible conflicts of interest and concluded board members whose children use pool facilities could still vote.

Separately the board approved a grounds mower purchase in the amount of $37,332.36 (motion by Mr. Cypress, support by Mr. De Villa) and a floor machine for Yaks Elementary at $10,081.90 (motion by Mr. Cypress, support by Mrs. Herndon). Board discussion noted the grounds purchase was needed after communications about turf and grounds upkeep; the floor machine motion included a corrected dollar amount during the meeting.
