The L'Anse Creuse Public Schools Board of Education approved a letter of understanding with the L'Anse Creuse Education Association (LCEA) at its June 23 meeting.
Ken Grix, vice president of the LCEA, told the board the letter was bargained carefully by both the district and union teams and had near-unanimous approval among teachers. Board members thanked both parties for negotiating in good faith.
The board made the motion to approve the letter of understanding (motion by Mrs. Herndon, support by Mr. Doss) and approved it by voice vote. The district asked that the board pass along thanks to the negotiating teams, including the superintendent's staff and Mr. Van Camp for district representation.
No material terms were read into the public record during the motion. The union vice president encouraged the board to approve the agreement and the board accepted it as part of routine human-resources business.
