Marysville Library reports summer programs, board to review city-library agreement

Mandy Cook, representing the Marysville Library, told the council the library's end-of-summer program will be July 11 and that the library will track summer reading through Aug. 1. Cook said the library has resumed in-school programming with groups of about 20'25 children and that staff and volunteers are running separate age-appropriate sessions.

Cook also said library staffer Lisa applied to the Kansas Library Initiative for a family-play-space grant and has been approved by the program pending final grant approval. "She already implements so many things in her story times that are about early literacy," Cook said, adding praise for library staff and volunteers.

The library board will meet Wednesday to reapprove the city-library agreement; Cook said she would report any substantive changes to council at a future meeting.
