During the special meeting, Bluff Town Council members agreed to cancel the July 1 meeting, designate July 8 as a work session and keep July 15 available for regular business.
A council member asked, "So do we need to discuss canceling the meeting for next week?" and the presiding council member confirmed the cancellation. The presiding council member said, "July 1 will be canceled. July 8 is a work session, and July 15 will be available."
Council members discussed a scheduling conflict at the Bluff Community Center on July 8: "There is a rental here at the community center till 5. So the meeting cannot be held here unless you wanna start after 5," one council member said. The presiding council member suggested holding the work session in the town's back office and allowing other members to appear virtually or spreading out in available space: "We could either change it or my suggestion would be... we just do it in the back office. And as long as 2 of us are here to hold down the meeting site, the others could appear virtually."
Council members discussed keeping the usual 4 p.m. start time or moving it later; one member said they would need a 6 p.m. start if they could not meet earlier. The council did not adopt a formal ordinance or motion for the schedule changes during the special meeting; the transcript records consensus to cancel July 1 and proceed with a July 8 work session with venue contingencies.
The council moved to adjourn after completing the agenda items.
