Bluff Town Council approves interlocal agreement with San Juan County to run town election

A presiding council member said the agreement had been reviewed in the council's earlier work session and asked whether any changes were needed before a vote. "We went over it in the work session," the presiding council member said. The official added the agreement must be signed so the town can be placed "in the queue for the, the elections," even though Bluff does not have a primary scheduled.
A council member moved to "accept the order" to have San Juan County conduct the town's election; another council member seconded. The motion passed by voice vote. "All in favor say aye," the presiding council member said; attendees responded "Aye." The presiding council member then called the vote "unanimous." Individual roll-call votes were not recorded in the meeting transcript.
Council members did not propose substantive changes during the meeting. Meeting minutes and the signed interlocal agreement will be needed to finalize Bluff's placement in San Juan County's election administration schedule.
The council adjourned the special meeting after taking the vote.
