Board notes policy first reading, upcoming class-size report and July 28 meeting with incoming superintendent

At the June 23 meeting the KIRKWOOD R-VII Board of Education placed a set of policies on first reading and asked trustees and the public to review them before the second reading at the July meeting.
District staff indicated the class-size report and final staffing update will be provided at the July 28 board meeting. The meeting date for regular board business was changed to July 28 so that the incoming superintendent could attend.
The board announced that Dr. Rumpus will begin as superintendent on July 1; the July 28 session will be the first regular board meeting with the new superintendent in attendance. No formal personnel action was taken at the June 23 meeting on the superintendent transition.
These items were presented as information to the board; no votes were recorded on policy adoptions or staffing reports during the June 23 session.
