Commissioners authorize pre-approved checks for concerts during July absence

Bannock County commissioners authorized the comptroller to process several checks while the board is out of the office July 10–18, including vendor payments to restock alcohol for two concerts.
Comptroller Kristy Plaza told the board concerts scheduled during the commissioners' absence require replenishing alcohol inventories and typically cost about $10,000 per concert. She requested authorization to process up to two vendor checks (two vendors) for up to $15,000 each and to allow the board to provide email approval while out of town; the checks would be ratified at the board's next meeting.
The board approved the request and agreed staff may email the commissioners to obtain their approval and later place the ratification on the agenda when the board returns. Plaza also noted automatic Blue Cross deductions on July 10 and July 17 that the board asked to have ratified upon return.
The board recorded the authorization on the transcript and asked staff to track and present supporting documentation for ratification.
