Ada County EMS previews new ambulance livery and reports large event coverage during stadium concert

Staff reported a heavy operational presence at a stadium concert (noted performers: Post Malone and Jelly Roll), with roughly half the EMS staff working standard field assignments and the remainder positioned at the event. The county has an on-site event medical arrangement at the stadium that includes a triage/treatment area where attendees can be treated without being transported to an emergency department.
Sean Rain described a new ambulance color scheme the service will begin rolling out: a blue hood with a high-visibility yellow box recommended by a scientist the county consulted. “This is the yellow that... recommended because it's very high visibility,” Rain said in the meeting transcript, noting the color appears brighter in sunlight and is intended to improve visibility compared with white rigs. Staff said some ambulances will be repainted this year using funds recovered after a crashed ambulance; additional rigs will be repainted next year and new 4x4 ambulances expected in the fleet will arrive painted in the new scheme.
Staff also described event logistics, including planned road closures near the stadium (University Avenue/Broadway to Capitol) and dedicated ride-hailing lanes to facilitate ingress and egress. EMS emphasized coordination with Boise State, which provided a medical/treatment facility on site with additional clinical support from student clinicians.
The EMS district approved the EMS claims journal and routine personnel actions by voice vote during the meeting.
