Staff said the project meets code requirements and is fully funded by impact fees; the board approved the contract by voice vote, 5‑0.
Officials said the parking layout will accommodate district code requirements and that the lot is intended primarily for staff and drop‑off/pick‑up rather than full daily student parking. As discussed at the meeting, the site plan provides roughly the number of stalls needed for the program (staff estimated in discussion about 20–30 stalls), and the civil work will excavate typical utility trenches of roughly 2–3 feet for the buried services cited by staff.
Heating and cooling for the modular classrooms were described as individual furnaces and outdoor heat pumps for groups of rooms rather than a central packaged HVAC system; there will be no lift stations or underground pump stations required for the site, staff said. Contract completion language shown to the board listed Jan. 30 as the formal completion date; staff said practical completion for classroom use was targeted for the winter break (Christmas break) if contractor sequencing allows.
Staff said the district will advertise required notices and proceed through standard contract administration steps. Impact fees will fund the contract; staff confirmed the district has met the regulatory and code requirements for utilities and parking.
Next steps: staff and contractor will coordinate site staging and scheduling to meet winter break readiness if weather and materials allow, and project administration will return to the board with any change orders or schedule changes.
