The sheriff said the department detained one individual who met ICE criteria after a local arrest. The person was held for two days before U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took custody and transported the individual to St. Louis; the sheriff reported the person had presented documents the department considered false and said the incident report will be sent to the St. Francois County Prosecutor’s Office.
No changes to county policy on immigration enforcement were reported during the meeting.
