Lemont board approves consent items, annexation and zoning variance at June 23 meeting

The Lemont Village Board on June 23 approved a consent agenda of budget amendments, vehicle and equipment orders for the police department, and several routine resolutions and ordinances after removing an alcohol-license item for separate handling.

The measure to annex a single lot at 14633 Main Street into the Village of Lemont (ordinance O-34-25) was approved following a presentation from the village administrator. The board also approved zoning variations for a new home at 210 Cass Street (ordinance O-35-25) that will allow an existing detached garage to remain and permit a side-loaded garage.

Board members voted on the consent agenda after removing ordinance O-31-25 (an amendment to the municipal code governing alcoholic beverage licenses) for separate consideration. The remainder of the consent agenda included: O-30-25 (amusements/special events operators), O-32-25 and O-33-25 (fiscal year 2024-25 operating budget amendments), and resolutions R-42-25 through R-44-25 (police vehicle orders, vehicle graphics installation, and a general-fund loan to the I&M TIF fund). All items on the consent agenda as presented (excluding O-31-25) were approved by roll call.

The zoning variation for 210 Cass Street was presented as a routine request that had been recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission and discussed at the Committee of the Whole; trustees approved it by roll call. The annexation of 14633 Main Street was described as a single-lot annexation located across from Franciscan Village and was approved by roll call.

Votes were taken by roll call for each individual ordinance and resolution; the board recorded members who were present or absent during each vote.
