Planning staff told the commission the property is in Planned Development District 294, surrounded by retail and restaurant uses, and that the proposed change would add a roughly 25-square-foot area for live music or a DJ inside the existing 4,000-square-foot restaurant. Staff reported six mailed notices with no returned comments and recommended approval with conditions: operations must comply with Texas food establishment rules and local food-service ordinances, no live music outdoors, and indoor live music may not be amplified through outdoor speakers.
Staff said the live music would be limited to weekends and to indoor spaces. No owner representative was present at the public hearing. Commissioners had no substantive questions and moved to approve the DRC recommendation. Commissioner John Fedorko made the motion and Commissioner Ty Chapman seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The approval is conditioned on compliance with the Texas food establishment rules and the planning staff's restrictions on outdoor amplified sound.
