Prescott thanked supporters and family, including his wife, Carrie, and said he was eager to begin work with council staff. “There’s 204,000 people in this city that are expecting results,” Prescott said. “I cannot wait to join the most capable team we have up here and be part of that team and deliver on results and promises and continue to build on the legacy that you guys have already started.”
The presiding official said the body would adjourn to an executive session in a nearby conference room and reconvene for a business meeting at 3:00 p.m. The special meeting then moved to a short ceremony and photographs before adjournment.
