As part of the city’s ongoing housing work, staff proposed a temporary Housing Advisory Board to advise on expanding housing opportunities and to work with the new Housing & Neighborhoods coordinator.
Structure and purpose: The proposed board would be temporary (approximately 365 days) with the option for council to extend or make it permanent. Staff said the board would work with the housing and neighborhood coordinator and bring recommendations to council on housing strategy and implementation.
Next steps: If council adopts the enabling resolution, the appointments committee will select board members and staff will work with the board and the housing coordinator on work plans. Councilmembers welcomed the proposal and staff said they will bring the resolution and appointment process to a future meeting.
No vote recorded at the work session; staff will place the resolution on a future agenda for formal adoption and appointment.
